Learn how to generate content ideas for your project

To generate content ideas for your project, you don’t have to be very creative. If you know a procedure and different sources for generating ideas, you will always have topics to create content and make your audience fall in love.

When we start a project, everything looks very nice and romantic. We want to publish up to 5 posts on the Facebook page in the same day, and the first two weeks of the blog are very active. It happens after a while, that you have no idea what the hell you are going to publish, you run out of content ideas to create.

For me this was a frequent problem, and what started out very nice then began to deflate. Fortunately, there are procedures for generating new content ideas, and multiplying these ideas so that you are never at a loss for what content to create.

In this post you will learn different methods to generate content ideas.

Important: Before continuing reading, I recommend that you read the article Learn how to create the basis of a content strategy that seduces potential customers before (if you haven’t read it yet). This post will allow you to get more and better ideas with a strategic basis.

There are different “sources” from which to get content ideas for your project. I detail some that can be quite useful.

Look at the base of your strategy

All your content should be consistent with the sweet spot of your strategy (click here for more information). In the same way, the same strategy works as a source of new content ideas.

Create content about your knowledge and experiences, combined with the passion and insights of your target audience.

Search on Google and Social Networks

Through the keywords that represent your project, do a search on Google and different social networks. You will find content that can be a guide to create your own content.

Research your competition

Similar to the previous one but in a more specific way, focused on your competition. Look at what your competitors are doing, and create content similar to the ones that work best for you, that is, the ones that have the most interactions and the ones that are best positioned on Google.

Keywords in Google Keyword Planner

Google Keyword Planner allows you to pull keyword ideas from what people are already looking for in the search engine. From here, very good ideas of content to be created can arise. There are projects that base almost their entire strategy on this source of ideas.

Google trends

Google trends allow you to know the topics that are trending at the moment, as well as their evolution over time. Talking about trends is a great opportunity to generate more traffic and interactions. This is especially useful for projects related to fashion, technology, politics, among others.

Comments from your followers or other accounts

Many times in the comments that they make to us on our social networks or blogs they tell us what people want to know. If you don’t have much movement, you can review the comments they make on other accounts with a similar theme. Also check emails.

BuzzSumo

BuzzSumo is a popular content search engine. You write a keyword or phrase and you will find the most popular content on the subject, according to how much they are shared on social networks. Obviously, from here you can get very good ideas to create content.
